Judge Raymond L. Jagielski

      Judge Raymond L. Jagielski was elected to the bench in 1992.  His original assignment was in
the First Municipal District where he heard traffic and misdemeanor cases.  In 1995 he was assigned
to the County Division where for 12 years he heard Real Estate Tax cases, Adoption cases, Mental
Health cases, and Election cases.  For the last three years Judge Jagielski has been assigned to
the Fifth Municipal District where he is the Supervising Judge for Traffic, Misdemeanors and Jury
cases.  

      Prior to being elected in 1992, Judge Jagielski was a Commissioner and Chairman of the
Chicago Board of Elections, was in the private practice of law, and was a Cook County Assistant
Public Defender.

      Judge Jagielski graduated from John Marshall Law School in 1981, and received his B.A. from Wabash College in
1975.  He is a lifelong resident of Chicago graduating from St. Rita High School in 1971.  He is married for 32 years and
has two children.

      In Judge Jagielski’s election to the bench in 1992, and in his subsequent retention races in 1998 and 2004 he was
found qualified, recommended, or highly qualified by all bar associations providing judicial evaluations.

      For 2010, Judge Jagielski has again been found qualified, recommended or highly qualified for his retention to the
bench by all bar associations that provide judicial evaluations.
