Judge Kathleen Mary Pantle

Bar Ratings: Judge Kathleen Mary Pantle has been previously found qualified by all Bar Associations who evaluated
her candidacy.  She also has been found Well Qualified by the Chicago Council of Lawyers.

Legal Experience:  Prior to becoming a judge, Judge Pantle was working as an Assistant Public Defender for 14 years.

Judicial Experience:  Judge Pantle was elected a full circuit judge in 1998.  Judge Pantle is currently assigned to the
General Chancery Division.  Her initial assignment was the 1st Municipal District handling traffic, general
misdemeanor, and domestic violence cases.  Subsequently, Judge Pantle was assigned to the Juvenile Justice
Division where she presided over delinquency cases for over three years.  She was then assigned to the Chicago
Felony Criminal Division for three and one-half years and presided over felony cases at the Skokie Courthouse and
the Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California.  

Education:  Judge Pantle graduated from Regina Dominican High School.  She received her B.S. magna cum laude
from Loyola University of Chicago.  In 1982, Judge Pantle received her Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola University of
Chicago.

Awards:  Judge Pantle received a Distinguished Service Award from the Anixter Center in 2003 and the St. Vincent
DePaul Award for Community Service in 2002.

Publication:  Judge Pantle is the co-author (along with Crystal Marchigiani) of the “Arrest, Search, and Seizure”
Chapter of the IICLE Publication Defending Illinois Criminal Cases (2010 ed., 2007 ed., 2003 ed.)

Membership:  Judge Pantle is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Vice-Chair of the Commercial
Litigation Committee.

Other:  Judge Pantle is an Adjunct Professor of Law at DePaul University School of Law.  She coaches the DePaul
Trial Team.
