Judge Marjorie C. Laws Date Admitted to Bar: Illinois Court: Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois Legal Experience: Immediately prior to becoming a judge, Laws was an assistant Cook County state's attorney working at 26th and California in Chicago. She was with the State's Attorney's Office for 15 years. Judicial Experience: Judge Laws was first elected to the bench in November 1996. She was assigned to the 1st Municipal District of the Circuit Court of Cook County. In December 1998, Judge Laws was transferred to the Juvenile Justice Division. On January 3, 2000, she was transferred to the Criminal Division. She is currently assigned to Felony Trial Division at 26th and California. Education: Graduate of Northwestern University Law School.
