Judge Michael P. Toomin

Legal Experience: 1967-69, Assistant Public Defender, Office of the
Cook County Public Defender; 1969-80, Solo Practitioner specializing
in criminal defense in federal and state courts.

Judicial Experience:  In March 1980, Toomin was appointed an Associate
Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County. In that capacity, he served in
the First and Second Municipal Districts handling civil and criminal cases
as well as ordinance violations. In November 1984, Judge Toomin was
elected a Circuit Court Judge and assigned to the Criminal Division where
he presently sits. In 1994, Toomin was appointed as a Supervising Judge,
a position he presently holds. He also serves as Acting Presiding Judge
in the absence of the Presiding Judge, Paul Biebel, Jr.
